Four Held for Lynching Rajasthan Dalit Man Over Love Affair

Bikaner: The Pilibanga police have arrested four more persons in connection with the brutal thrashing of a Dalit man that led to his death in Hanumangarh. SHO of Pilibanga police station – Indra Kumar said the suspects identified as Vinod Kumar (22), Mahendra (23), Rameshwar (28) and Manohar Lal (24) were involved in the abduction and assault on Jagdish Meghwal (29) who was was allegedly beaten to death in a farm in Suratgarh tehsil on October 7.
The FIR, registered on the complaint of the deceased’s father Banwari Lal, stated that the accused had dumped the body outside the family’s home, in Hanumangarh’s Prempura village, on Thursday. The FIR names 11 people, including the woman with whom the police believe the deceased allegedly had an affair, as accused in the case. Till now, the police have arrested 8 accused and detained a juvenile in this case.
The accused arrested earlier on Monday are in police custody until October 14, the police are investigating the role of others involved in this killing.
