UP: Teen girl raped by friend's acquaintance, accused arrested

The Kotwali police have arrested an accused by registering a report against two people in connection with the rape of a Dalit teenager on Saturday night. He was produced in court and sent to jail. A report has also been filed against the friend of the victim for hatching a conspiracy to rape.

The teenager, a village resident of Kotwali area, has said in the report lodged at Tirwa Kotwali that at eight o’clock on Saturday night, she along with her friend had gone to the fields near the village’s tubewell for defecation.

At the same time, Ranjit’s son Prabhudayal, a resident of Behta village of Thathia police station area, was already present. Ranjeet caught him. His friend was driven away. After that he raped her. On complaining, the accused fled, threatening to kill the entire family. The victim also alleged that her friend had conspired with her.

Kotwali in-charge Harishyam Singh said that a case was registered against both of them on the complaint of the victim girl. Accused Ranjit has been arrested. The victim girl has been sent to District Hospital Kannauj for medical examination.
