Dalit attacked for voting in favour of BJP

Lucknow: A dalit man was attacked by his rival allegedly for voting in favour of the SC/ST Act has been registered against the accused.

The victim, identified as Rajesh Kanaujia of Ram Das ka Hata in the area, was going for some work when he was attacked. He alleged that one Kallu of the same locality stopped him near Sadar Bazaar bridge around 4 pm. “Kallu attacked me with a knife and hurled casteist remarks on me When I asked for the reason he said he was annoyed with me and my community members as we had voted for the BJP,” he said. Rajesh further said that local residents, including Shakeel and Sheebu,were present when Kallu attacked him. ACP, cantonment, Archana Singh said that an FIR has been lodged and efforts are on to nab the accused.
