Ghaziabad: In a shocking incident reported from Ghaziabad, a 75-year-old man was allegedly thrashed and threatened on Tuesday at a posh housing society. The incident took place at Cosmos Golden Heights society in Crossing Republik.
The four accused have been arrested by police. They are identified as Pavan Sharma, Tarun Sharma, Omprakash and Shivam. The brawl took place over AOA (Apartment Owners Association
) election to be held on August 21.
The four accused approached election officer SC Gupta and misbehaved with him. This caused other residents to come out in support of the elderly man and this led to a fight, a report in Times of India quoted AOA president Nitin Saxena.
Later, police were informed about the fight and four people were arrested, said Circle Officer Anshu Jian.
Police have filed an FIR under Sections 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntary causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
In another incident from Ghaziabad on August 16, a man murdered his wife in sleep and later walked to police station to surrender. The accused was identified as Ankit Kumar.
The accused stunned police when he told that he has slit the throat of his wife and the body was kept at home. The incident took place at Morti village. Later, the police arrested the accused.
