Public Bureau . An incident of physical abuse with a Dalit woman sub-inspector is coming to the fore in Sonipat, Haryana. No one else but a sub-inspector posted in his own department has committed physical abuse. It is alleged that the police could not arrest the accused even after 11 days in the case. According to the information, a victim resident of Tehsil Sangatpura located in Jind, Haryana is posted as Sub Inspector in Police Station City Police. The woman took up posting here in January 2021. It is alleged that ASI Satish 177/SPT posted in this police station tried to molest and forcibly rape the victim as she belonged to Scheduled Caste.

The woman says that, on August 29, 2021, she was going to the police station from the police line. During this, the accused Satish (Accused ASI Satish) forcibly made him sit in his car. Stopping the car on the way, he started doing wrong things, after which he got down from the car and went to the police station on foot. On reaching the police station, the accused forcibly pushed the victim sitting in the women’s room and dropped her on the ground. And with the intention of raping, overpowered her.

During this incident, the woman, including trying to make noise, asked her to complain to the above officers, then the accused abusing her abusively and told her, ‘Tu thhi chamarin teri kaun sunega. We Jats have women like you who wipe the broom. Today, if you become an officer, then the feeling is eating.

After this, the accused went out on the contrary, threatening to get him fired from the job and if he tried to complain to anyone, then he got out. After reaching her home, the victim sat and cried for a long time. When her husband returned, she narrated the whole incident to him. With great courage, both the husband and wife filed a complaint against the guilty ASI Satish in the police station on August 31. The woman has pleaded for justice by accusing her of physical abuse and threatening to kill her. In this connection, a team of Adamam met the Dalit Women Sub Inspector (Dalit Women ASI) in Sonepat on 8 September.

The team met the woman (age 22 years) and her husband and took stock of everything. The woman told the team that in January 2021 she had joined the Sonepat police station, the female officer told that she tried to do wrong with her several times, which she informed her husband. After this, both of them have gathered courage and filed a complaint in the police station.

Talking about this, an officer of Adamam told Janjwar that, ‘The victim, along with her husband, had given an application to SP Sonipat. In this, the criminal belongs to the Jat community and is a sub-inspector. It is very shocking that a woman being a police officer is not only safe, then how will the common man be safe.

After registering the FIR in this case with such a delay from August 31, the accused has not been arrested yet. After all, when the woman has made such a big allegation, then it is a matter of thinking that she will not lie. In the information given to the victim on the phone to Janjwar , the husband said that, ‘The accused was doing Harrasement for a long time. At first, the victim did not pay much attention considering it as a departmental deficiency, due to which the courage of the accused Satish kept increasing.

In this incident on the afternoon of 28, when he reached home in the evening, the wife told the whole story. We went to the police station on August 31 and complained. A case has been registered, but the accused is yet to be arrested. We also tried to know the side of the accused in this regard but could not be contacted. We also talked to the police station Sadar (PS Sadar) in Jind, but there could not be any information other than just Aade-Ude (local language). But one thing is clear here that be it UP, MP, Haryana, in many states of Bihar dosh, Dalits are still seen with slave and contemptuous eyes.
