Second FIR registered in the case of hate speech against Muslims in Haridwar Dharma Sansad

In the second FIR, the organizers of the Parliament of Religions, Yeti Narasimhanand Giri, Jitendra Narayan Tyagi, former names Wasim Rizvi, Sagar Sindhuraj Maharaj, Dharamdas, Parmanand, Sadhvi Annapurna, Anand Swaroop, Ashwini Upadhyay, Suresh Chavan and Prabodhanand Giri have been named. The Dharma Sansad held in Haridwar on 17-19 December 2021 allegedly called for violence against Muslims and their genocide.

Dehradun: Second FIR has been registered against 10 people in connection with a Dharma Sansad held in Haridwar. In this Parliament of Religions, some fundamentalists of the Hindu community had allegedly called for their genocide by making malicious statements against Muslims.

Jwalapur Senior Sub-Inspector Nitesh Sharma said that the second FIR in the case has been registered on the basis of the complaint of Nadeem Ali, a resident of Haridwar area and social worker, on January 3.

He said that the second FIR names ten people, including the organizers of the event, Yeti Narasimhanand Giri, Jitendra Narayan Tyagi (earlier known as Wasim Rizvi), Sagar Sindhuraj Maharaj, Dharamdas, Parmanand, Sadhvi Annapurna, Anand Swaroop, Ashwini Upadhyay, Suresh Chavan and Prabodhanand Giri.

The FIR was registered at the Jwalapur police station and transferred to the city police station, where the first FIR was registered in connection with the case, the official said.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) was also constituted on January 3 to investigate the matter .

According to the Indian Express , state DGP Ashok Kumar said that the second FIR has been registered under IPC sections related to promoting enmity (153A) and hurting religious sentiments (298).

DGP Kumar also said that an SIT has been constituted with an additional SP and a deputy SP level officer to probe the speeches made in the Dharma Sansad.

Let us inform that a ‘ Dharma Sansad ‘ was organized by Hindutva leaders and fundamentalists in Haridwar, Uttarakhand between 17-19 December 2021 , in which openly hate speeches were given against Muslims and minorities, even their There was also a call for genocide.

Yeti Narasimhanand  , one of the organizers of the program,  made provocative statements against the Muslim society and said that he would give one crore rupees to the person who became Hindu Prabhakaran.

Earlier, the first FIR was registered in this regard on 23 December 2021, in which only  Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi  was named. Before leaving Islam and adopting Hinduism, Tyagi’s name was Wasim Rizvi.

Wasim Rizvi was the former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Central Shia Waqf Board, which has recently changed its name claiming to convert to  Hinduism .

Officials said that apart from section 153A (promoting enmity between different communities on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language) in the FIR, section 295 (causing damage to a place of worship or any holy object) of the Indian Penal Code was also added. Has been.

The names of Swami Dharamdas  and  Sadhvi Annapurna alias Pooja Shakun Pandey  were added to this FIR on 25 December 2021 . Pooja Shakun Pandey is the Mahamandaleshwar of Niranjini Akhara and general secretary of Hindu Mahasabha.

After this, on January 1, the names of Yeti Narasimhanand  and Sagar Sindhuraj Maharaj  of Roorkee  were included in this FIR  .

Recently retired police officers including Vibhuti Narayan Rai and Vikas Narayan Rai, former Director Generals of Police of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana respectively, wrote letters to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, saying that the ‘Dharma Sansad’ is a symbol of peaceful co-existence of different religions in Uttarakhand’s long history. There is a black spot on tradition.

76 lawyers of the Supreme Court have also written a letter to Chief Justice NV Ramana  , seeking directions for strict action against those who made provocative statements against Muslim society in the recent programs in Delhi and Haridwar .

Apart from this, in the past, the country’s former army chiefs, bureaucrats and many intellectuals had  written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind , demanding to condemn the call for genocide of Muslims and take action against those who make such threats.

More than 200 people have signed this open letter written to Prime Minister Modi and the President.
