ALWAR/JAIPUR: The Dholpur police on Tuesday arrested six accused for allegedly assaulting a 26-year-old Dalit woman.
SP (Dholpur) Shiv Raj Meena said that the police have arrested all the six persons named in the FIR under relevant sections of IPC and other relevant sections under SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) act.
The police have listed the accused as Dhan Singh (28), Lokendra (27), Parimal Singh alias Vipin (24), Lalu Parmar (20), Sachin (18) and Mohit Parmar (18). The woman on March 16 had filed an FIR at Kanchanpur police station, alleging she was waylaid and gang-raped at gunpoint in front of her family.
However, the police in their subsequent investigations did not find any evidence to indicate allegations of rape but arrested the accused for intimidation and assault to disrobe her.
